No season finale in Nuremberg
Following its première in 2016, the Franconian edition of the world's largest trade fair for driving culture quickly became a platform with high sales and its own profile. The fifth edition of RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® was due to open its doors to knowledgeable visitors from 4 to 6 December 2020. However, this popular scene platform in the inventor city of Nuremberg must now be postponed. The organisers said that the event was being postponed due to the uncertain overall situation at present.
"In view of the current situation and the prospect of other restrictions, it is unfortunately not possible at present to successfully stage an event of this kind and size," said Andreas Herrmann, Managing Director of Stuttgarter RETRO Messen GmbH. "In spite of wide interest from the region and a "viable safety concept" formulated in close cooperation with the authorities, the trade fair therefore had to be postponed to the period from 3 to 5 December 2021.
Thanks to its central location and the good infrastructure, RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® was characterised in the last few years not least by a continually increasing number of participants from other German federal states and other countries," said Herrmann. "In addition to current event regulations, the dynamic development in the entry and quarantine regulations ultimately forced the organisers to postpone the event."
However, this does not mean that historic and classic car fans will have to completely forgo their beloved season finale: the auction specialist Classicbid will now hold its classic car auction, which was originally scheduled as part of the trade fair, as an online event. "Great excitement" will therefore be guaranteed during a live stream on all three RETRO days. During the virtual "RETRO CLASSICS BAVARIA® auctions powered by Classicbid" (4, 5 and 6 December 2020), dream cars in many different price categories and high-quality automobilia will come under the hammer.
